Joe Taranto is a writer/director from a small town on Florida’s east coast. His storytelling often centers around the concepts of grief and the fear of change. This perspective stems from a collegiate sports play that took Joe from an athlete to a quadriplegic who was told he would never walk again. Embarking on a new journey, Joe would ultimately gain a deeper understanding of the fragility of humanistic traits allowing him to truly connect the audience to his flawed characters in authentic ways.
After receiving his MFA from Loyola Marymount School of Film and Television, his films played in numerous festivals around the world. While on exhibition, they’ve collected multiple Best Of and Jury Awards along with offerings of distribution deals. One of his commercials was a finalist in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl Contest, subsequently picked up for a two-year national broadcast schedule including airing during such events as the NBA Finals. He is currently developing his first sci-fi feature. |
